I have a PhD in sociology from JNU, India. I work within the broad themes of democracy, village studies, pluralism and minority rights. My geographical area of research is east Uttar Pradesh, India. I am currently an independent researcher based in India. I sometimes contribute to news portal, which includes film reviews and opinion pieces. These days I am researching on B.R. Ambedkar and his idea of social justice.

Moumita Alam is a poet from West Bengal. She has five published collections of poetry, including a translation. Her works have been translated in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi.
