Hate Me

Hate me,
Hate me as you can.
For I am a woman and I can talk to you
Directly looking at your eyes,
As my spine is straight

Hate me,
Hate me as much as you can.
For I am black and I don’t care for my look,
As I know your hidden truth–
The truth that fails to pale my skin.
And no creams in the world can make it glow

Hate me.
Hate me as much as you can.
For I am not fit for the majority.
For I am not of the ruling party, nor the opposition.
For I have no place in your designed maps.
Still, I can fight for my breath,
I want every right for my being,
I can raise my voice standing alone in a no man’s land

You can do as you want.
Snatch my rights or
Choke my voice.
Even you can kill me.
You can rape me before and after killing.
You can break my bones or
Throw my corpse in a gutter

You can burn me alive.
But each time you burn me,
I will fly like a phoenix and
You know, I have the power
To steal your dream, to arrest your future forever,
So beware…
